100 B-Schools students accept 'dream' placements

IIM-A emerged that around 100 students have opted for their 'dream application', which gave them the flexibility to build careers in sectors of their preference.

Setting a  trend, eight students of the premier business school opted out of the placement process to work on their own ventures, under the  mentorship of the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) of IIM-A.

The final placement process for the session of 2014-2016 of the PGP in management was completed on Friday within 3 clusters, with students being placed across 13 sectors in functions of their choice.

110+ companies participated in the 2016 final placement process. The companies that made the most offers were Accenture Strategy, Amazon, Bain & Co., Flipkart, McKinsey & Co. and The Boston Consulting Group.

Accenture Strategy made the most -18 -offers. Among global banks, Goldman Sachs was the largest recruiter, picking seven students. In the sales and marketing domain, Star India offered nine jobs followed by Procter & Gamble with eight.

The Aditya Birla Group was the largest recruiter in the general management  with seven offers. In the internet and e-commerce sector, Flipkart was the largest recruiter having 17 offers to students for roles in operations, marketing, product marketing and product management(PM).

Recruiters in the management and consulting domain included Accenture Strategy, Alvarez & Marsal, AT Kearney, Bain & Co., McKinsey & Co., Monitor Deloitte, Roland Berger Strategy & The Boston Consulting Group.

Prominent recruiters in markets space and investment banking included Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Citibank, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Kotak IB and Standard Chartered. Among the banking, financial services and insurance recruiters, Axis Bank, Bharti Axa and Yes Bank extended offers.
