Nehru Science Centre(NSC) consists of more than 500 hands-on and interactive science exhibits on sound, kinematics, mechanics, transport, etc. installed across science park & various galleries. The NSC building with its unique architecture houses several permanent science expositions on various themes.
The Centre is going to organise Innovation Fest for promoting innovation culture for three days starting from January 29 and ending on January31, 2016 at the Centre. This festival provides a great platform for artisans, creators, makers & innovators to showcase their innovation, talent and creativity to a large number of visitors who visit this Centre
The festival provides a platform for showcasing innovation in products and services from the field of art, craft, science and technology, and will also feature lectures, activities, workshops, demonstrations, challenge yourself corner, idea box, etc.
Hassle-free devices for cleaning of rice, travel bags with folding seats, modified crutches and adjustable walkers are some of the exhibits that will be on display at the three-day Innovation Festival of Nehru Science Centre starting from January 29. This function will be inaugrated by former director of Institute of Chemical Technology, Padma Vibhushan M M Sharma
Institutions like IIT-Bombay, National Innovation Foundation, Agastya International Foundation, students from various schools and others will be participating in this event current year. Some of the great innovations like Low-cost Braille printer, Mitti-Cool, IIT-Bombay's racing car, replica of the first Benz car, working model of the gearless spherical robot, mind-controlled chair for physically challenged people and autonomous underwater vehicle from the Powai institute will be displayed. President of India has declared the decade starting from 2010 as the 'Decade of Innovation'. Forwarding this agenda, especially among the students, NSC has established a new facility at the centre, called the Innovation Hub. This facility has express objective of creating an innovating culture among the public especially among the students.
